Moonlight (2002)

Plot

Claire, raised by affluent adoptive parents in a secluded forest home, stumbles upon a severely injured boy hidden in the family shed. He is a young drug courier from Afghanistan, shot after being used as a mule. Choosing to protect him, Claire nurtures his recovery, and a romantic bond blossoms between them. As drug dealers reappear and her family prepares to return to the city, the couple plans to escape. However, Claire grapples with the emotional scars of her past as an abandoned child, complicating their flight towards a hopeful future.
