Plot

Nine-year-old Lewie Penrose believes he can communicate with horses and predict race outcomes, stirring curiosity in his Baltimore family. When his claims seem validated, gambler Rich Roeder seeks Lewie’s supposed talent for a guaranteed win at the Preakness. As the excitement builds around the young boy's abilities, Lewie's older brother John navigates his own romantic endeavors with the charming Martha.
