Plot

Set during the War of 1812, General Andrew Jackson faces a daunting challenge as he must defend New Orleans with just 1,200 troops against a looming British fleet of 60 ships and 16,000 soldiers. A nearby island becomes a crucial battleground, home to the notorious pirate Jean Lafitte. Though Lafitte refrains from attacking American vessels, the governor despises him for his tax-free trade, while the townsfolk admire him for the same reason. As the impending battle approaches, Lafitte finds himself torn between loyalty to America and the pressure from his community to side with the likely victors.
