Plot

Lee Gentry, a slick lawyer, is in a relationship with Katy Costello but is secretly involved with the dancer, Carmen Brown. When he decides to break things off with Carmen, she becomes so heartbroken that she contemplates suicide. In a tragic turn of events, while trying to take a gun from her, he accidentally shoots her and, believing she’s dead, starts fabricating a series of ridiculous alibis to hide his involvement. Throughout this chaos, he is guided by a spectral version of himself, complicating his already precarious situation even further.
