Amid the stark landscape of a De Beers diamond mine, a struggling indigenous community faces relentless challenges as their land evolves into a modern frontier. Rosie Koostachin passionately distributes aid to families living in dilapidated, mold-infested sheds, convinced that raising awareness among Canadians can spark change. Filmmaker Victoria Lean captures five years of Attawapiskat’s struggles, spotlighting their plight first during a Red Cross intervention and later through the Idle No More protest movement. Through a blend of personal stories and archival footage, the documentary powerfully illustrates the First Nation's quest for justice against a backdrop of systemic indifference.
