Plot

In Marseille, a conceited grocer's assistant irritates a film crew to the point of retaliation. They decide to play a trick on him by presenting a fake acting contract. Naively convinced it's legitimate, the bumbling "schpountz" sets off for Paris, eager to pursue his newfound dream of stardom.
