Plot
Two teenagers stumble upon a fugitive named Mud, who is hiding on a secluded island in the Mississippi River. Drawn to his story of love and desperation, they decide to aid him in reuniting with his beloved, while also navigating the dangerous threats posed by a vengeful family and their armed followers. As the boys become embroiled in Mud's perilous quest, they confront their own understanding of loyalty, love, and the harsh realities of adulthood.
