Plot

British officer Eric Newby, recently freed from an Italian prison, faces the daunting task of escaping Italy before German forces close in. Injured and separated from his unit, he finds refuge with compassionate locals. Among them is Wanda, a captivating Italian woman who aids him in mastering the language necessary for his escape. As they bond over shared struggles, their friendship blossoms into a tender romance. Yet, with the threat of discovery looming, their futures remain uncertain, forcing them to confront the harsh realities of war and separation.
