In the 1970s, five men grappling with their sexuality within an Evangelical church initiated a Bible study aimed at abandoning their "homosexual lifestyle." Their efforts quickly attracted over 25,000 letters from those seeking similar help, leading to the formation of Exodus International, the largest and most controversial conversion therapy organization globally. However, many leaders harbored a secret: their own same-sex attractions never faded. Years later, numerous founders have publicly embraced their LGBTQ identities, renouncing the very movement they once championed.
