Plot

Oh, My Buddha! draws inspiration from Jun Miura's semibiographical novel, capturing the essence of teenage angst and ambition during the 1970s. The story follows a first-year student at a conservative all-boys Buddhist school, disillusioned by the monotony of his existence. Yearning for the freedom and creativity embodied by his idol, Bob Dylan, he spends his days crafting rock songs and emulating Dylan's iconic style. A turning point arrives when a liberal friend invites him on an adventurous island getaway, promising a journey of self-discovery and sexual liberation that could change everything.
