Plot

Atsuko and Akira, a married couple with a son and daughter, find themselves in a financial bind. Atsuko manages their retirement savings, carefully budgeting the money Akira provides and supplementing their income with her part-time job. Despite her efforts to live frugally, unexpected costs arise, including their daughter's wedding and the funeral expenses for Akira's father. Just when they think they have a handle on their finances, both lose their jobs, further complicating their already precarious situation.
