A year after a $300,000 bank heist in New York remains unsolved, marked bills surface during a drugstore burglary in Los Angeles. Detectives Cal Bruner and Jack Farnham dive into the case, tracing the money to a nightclub where singer Lilli has also received a stolen bill. As Lilli aids their investigation, the tension escalates when Cal reveals his intention to pocket a portion of the recovered cash, leaving both Lilli and Jack conflicted about their partner's moral choices and the implications of their pursuit.
