Episode Overview

During a bike race, several pedestrians and participants are injured, leaving one pedestrian brain dead. Christina and Issie grapple with the emotional turmoil of organ donation, as Christina remains detached while Issie clings to hope for the man’s recovery. Preston struggles with his aversion to organ harvesting; as a surgeon, he is committed to saving lives, and the thought of harvesting contradicts that mission. Meanwhile, George contends with Mac, a friend of the chief, who keeps flirting with him and is in desperate need of a liver. Meredith grows increasingly frustrated with Alex's arrogance and is trying to distance herself from Derek. Living with Issie and George, she finds herself at her wit's end with their cheerful demeanor and politeness, especially as they express interest in viewing her mother's medical tapes. Ultimately, Meredith discovers what it takes to win the race.
