The episode resumes right after the previous one, with Meredith trying to collaborate with Addison Shepard. Meanwhile, George finds himself used as a messenger to share hospital gossip with Webber. At the Emerald City Bar, Meredith and Cristina bond over their experiences dating their attendings. Cristina reflects on her feelings for Burke as she faces a tough choice. Meredith, on the other hand, is heartbroken after another setback in her romantic endeavors. Amidst all this, Joe the bartender suddenly collapses, adding to the chaos.
