Alex's younger brother, Aaron, arrives at Seattle Grace-Mercy West with a hernia, putting Alex in a position to seek Bailey's consent for his surgery without charge. Tensions rise when Aaron reveals that their family hasn't heard from Alex since he moved to Seattle, leading to the unearthing of some of Alex's long-hidden secrets, which come to light among his friends and colleagues at the hospital.
