S01E12 The Death Trap
Episode Overview
On February 22, 1861, the guys find themselves in a Baltimore barn where a gathering of followers of Abolitionist John Brown is taking place. Mistaken for allies, they are soon interrupted by the Pinkertons, leading to Doug's capture while Tony escapes with brothers Jeremiah and Matthew. With a plot to assassinate Lincoln on the horizon, Doug pleads his innocence to the Pinkerton agents. Meanwhile, Tony attempts to sway Jeremiah against their dangerous mission, but Jeremiah remains resolute. After some tense moments, they manage to convince the Pinkertons of a bomb threat, prompting a search. Meanwhile, the Project team inadvertently retrieves the conspirators' younger brother, David, along with the bomb, persuading him to delay its activation before sending them both back. Just as Lincoln is about to leave, Tony, Doug, and Matthew finally convince Jeremiah to abandon his violent ideals.
