Episode Overview
On June 4, 1944, just days before D-Day, Doug and Tony find themselves imprisoned by the Gestapo in Cherbourg. Dr. Heinz Kleinemann, a scientist loyal to the Reich, intends to brainwash Doug while allowing Tony to escape. Tony joins forces with the Resistance, but they are wary of him despite needing his technical skills. Under Kleinemann's manipulation, Doug believes he is 'Heinrich Kriegler,' convinced that Tony is responsible for his father's death. When Doug attempts to kill Tony, the Resistance's distrust deepens. Ultimately, Tony is compelled to capture Doug after a confrontation. Doug discloses a traitor within their ranks, leading to a coordinated assault on the Gestapo headquarters. They successfully retrieve Kleinemann and the serum required to restore Doug's true identity. With Doug back to normal, the Resistance detains Kleinemann while Tony and Doug are hurried away as the bombing commences.
