After the man's death, J.D. is filled with regret, wondering if a kinder approach could have made a difference. At the same time, Elliot is convinced that Dr. Kelso is the mystery voice behind "Tuscaloosa Heart," a song from a tape given to her by a patient who claims to have attended college with Bob. Meanwhile, Dr. Cox finds himself caught in a romantic dilemma, developing feelings for his intern, Kristen Murphy, while also navigating unwanted advances from his ex-wife and his lingering attraction to Carla.
