In Quito, Ecuador, just before New Year's Eve, Debbie unintentionally wounds her father's emotions. Seeking adventure, she teams up with the quirky 30s-era volcano enthusiasts, Mitzi and Merrick Dash. Meanwhile, Eliza sets off on a mission to retrieve her friend, Santusa the Llama, and bring Debbie back. Their journey takes a dramatic turn when they face a mudslide triggered by the volcano's eruption, adding to the chaos of the day.
