Episode Overview

Jeffrey finds himself in trouble with the trustees when a distraught husband has regrets about allowing him to experiment with an artificial heart on his recently deceased wife. Meanwhile, Alan steps in to help when a patient's HMO denies coverage for Aaron’s surgery on her complex and life-threatening brain tumor. Jeffrey also pays a visit to his wife Laurie, a patient in a mental health facility, where she expresses remorse over drowning their son Joey. During a heated exchange, Arthur's refusal to remove his finger from Jeffrey's face results in a bite, leading Jeffrey to identify the treatable condition behind Arthur's tremor.
