Episode Overview

When Antoine Metcalf, a gang member and seasoned criminal, tracks his latest victim into the E.R., chaos erupts as he opens fire in a room, only to be taken down by hospital security. Meanwhile, Karen joins the team and partners with Paula to remove hematomas from Marcus Lavelle, who is unable to walk. Although the surgery is a success, the trauma of witnessing his mother get shot leaves Marcus in a state of hysterical paralysis. In the operating room, Aaron makes a dark joke about letting Metcalf die during surgery, a comment that comes back to haunt him when Metcalf's family sues after his death. Arthur attempts to influence the situation by providing some off-the-record support.
