Episode Overview

Caroline, an army wife, has recently settled into the barracks with her newborn, while her husband Tom is away on his first deployment. Adjusting to life alone proves challenging, especially with a colicky baby who won’t stop crying. Though she tries to connect with other wives, Caroline feels out of place among their composed and tidy appearances. Noticing her growing anxiety, seasoned wife Maggie steps in to lend support. When rats invade Caroline's home, she nearly loses it, but Maggie reassures her and introduces her to Sam, a rat catcher who is also Tom's friend. Understanding Caroline's struggles, Sam begins to fill the void left by Tom, helping out at home and spending time with the baby. As their bond deepens, Caroline and Sam fight their growing attraction. When the baby faces a health scare, Sam becomes Caroline’s rock—yet he stays on the sofa, respecting boundaries.
