DS Matt Devlin finds himself personally affected as he investigates the murder of his childhood friend, PS Pete Garvey, who was also a police officer. Their lifelong friendship adds weight to the case, especially when Matt learns that Pete had recently reached out to their former parish priest, Jonathan Nugent, who Pete alleged had sexually abused him in the past. With only rumors and suspicions to support their claims, bringing a murder charge against Nugent proves challenging. Meanwhile, James and Alesha resort to unconventional tactics to secure any charge against the suspect in their urgent quest for justice.
