Grand Tours of Scotland's Lochs (2017)
S03E04 The People's Lochs
Episode Overview
Paul embarks on a cherished journey through the Kyles of Bute to Dunoon, uncovering the hidden history of WWII bouncing bombs along the way. In Dunoon, he reflects on the town's ties to famous singer Harry Lauder and reminisces about nuclear submarines in the Holy Loch. There, he meets a man with a remarkable water-powered organ. After crossing the loch, Paul forges hot steel alongside a blacksmith whose family has worked at Vulcan’s forge for six generations, creating pieces like the Golden Gates at Benmore gardens. At Loch Long, he encounters a vintage sailing boat with Viking roots, which takes him to climb the people's mountain, The Cobbler.
