Ashley Wilkes roams through East Anglia, creating delightful paintings of quaint cottages while enchanting the local women. An army officer enlists Lovejoy to track down Wilkes under the guise of offering him a commission, but Lovejoy senses something amiss. When he finally locates the mysterious artist, he discovers that Wilkes is harboring a dark secret.
