The FBI Files (1998)
S01E09 The Unabomber
Episode Overview
For nearly two decades, a solitary figure unleashed fear through carefully crafted mail bombs, resulting in two fatalities and numerous injuries. Ted Kaczynski evaded capture until his brother alerted the FBI, leading to his identification as the notorious Unabomber. The publication of Kaczynski's Manifesto in prominent newspapers ignited intense investigative efforts, including linguistic analysis and DNA extraction from a single stamp. Eventually, Kaczynski was apprehended at his remote cabin. With the Manifesto and other evidence in hand, authorities secured his conviction. He is currently serving four life sentences plus an additional 30 years without the possibility of parole.
