Overview
Bonde söker fru is a Swedish reality series aired on TV4, inspired by the Fremantle format Farmer Wants a Wife. The show showcases several single farmers who meet potential love interests, inviting some to their farms for an extended date with one special person. If a couple ends up getting married, their journey is broadcasted. Debuting in 2006, the show kicked off with two spring episodes introducing the farmers, who then received letters from those interested in them. The main series aired in the fall and quickly gained popularity, averaging 1.5 million viewers per episode. Starting with the second season, female farmers were included, and by the third season in 2008, a gay farmer also joined the lineup.
