Max's high school sweetheart Angie, the girl he dated before coming to terms with his sexuality, comes back to town, prompting jealousy in Penny, his college girlfriend. Simultaneously, Alex begins to harbor an unexpected crush on Max. The situation escalates when Dave starts seeing Angie, which infuriates Max and leads him to initiate a "code war." Meanwhile, Jane discovers that Brad has a "work wife," which motivates her to seek out her own "work husband" in response.
