Martin is thrilled when a homicide at Claremont Psychiatric brings the NYPD into his domain, giving him a chance to engage directly with one of Malcolm's investigations. As they work on the case, Ainsley becomes increasingly wary, sensing that Malcolm might be concealing something from her. Meanwhile, both Malcolm and Ainsley try to evade their mother, who is curious about the sudden disappearance of her beloved rug.
