Pingu (1986)

Episode Overview

While Mother and Father head out, Pingu and Pinga stay home. Pingu places a pan on the stove, and Pinga hands him a cob of corn. After Pingu pops the kernels and they enjoy a batch of popcorn, Pinga cleverly distracts him and finishes off the last few pieces. Determined, Pingu fills a large box with more corn from the cupboard and loads it into the boiler. As the corn pops, they fill boxes with the fluffy treat, and Pingu sets off with a sledge to share it with neighbors. He gives away three boxes but faces rejection from a mother with triplets and the post office attendant, who is already full. Spotting some empty boxes outside the post office, they fill one and send it off. Unfortunately, when it arrives, it bursts open, causing a popcorn explosion that displeases the neighbor. Meanwhile, Pingu and Pinga enjoy a big plate of popcorn at home, realizing they must finish before their parents return.
