Di Crabbe and DS Cambridge are tasked with probing a series of garden heists occurring while homeowners are on brief getaways. These aren't mere plant pilferings; entire gardens are being looted. The primary suspect emerges as landscape designer Alan Wellbeloved, who seems to be profiting from the chaos. Upon returning home, Henry is shocked to find that Margaret has engaged Wellbeloved for a redesign of the restaurant's backyard, intending to create an outdoor dining space.
