Episode Overview

Anne of Green Gables tells the story of Anne Shirley, an orphan navigating her childhood and teenage years. Set in early 20th-century Prince Edward Island, siblings Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert realize they need assistance with their Green Gables farm and plan to adopt a boy. However, a mix-up leads them to a remarkable girl instead. Anne’s spirited personality clashes with Marilla's more serious demeanor, and although Marilla initially considers sending her back, she agrees to let Anne stay temporarily. It doesn’t take long for Anne’s presence to transform Marilla’s perspective, revealing how much brighter their lives have become with her around.
