Bailey attends a wedding with Holly, where her relatives mistakenly believe they are a married couple. Meanwhile, Julia anxiously awaits a response from her new editor regarding her book. Determined not to wait idly, she tracks down her editor, only to learn that another book with a similar storyline has been released, leaving Julia’s project shelved. The family dog, Thurber, falls ill, prompting Claudia to take him to the vet. Charlie and Kirsten go on a double date with Daphne, but after Charlie's boss rejects his ideas, he initially quits his job. However, a conversation leads to his reinstatement. Ultimately, Bailey and Claudia decide to let Thurber go, and the family gathers to scatter his ashes in the park, bidding farewell to their cherished companion.
