Episode Overview
At breakfast, Lance shows Melissa the newspaper, believing he has escaped trouble. However, Melissa realizes that Richard printed the article in retaliation for her refusal to sell her father's property. When Angie discovers that Richard's evidence comes from paternity test results provided by Lance, she publicly renounces Lance's claim to inheritance. Meanwhile, Cole, reading the same article, assumes Melissa has finally revealed his paternity to Joseph. Although Cole's murder charges have been lifted, Chase understands that the situation won’t settle until Carlo Agretti's killer is found. At the hospital, Angie visits a seriously ill Elliot McKay, who stubbornly declines her offer to purchase his vineyard. In town, Vickie encounters Nick, who declares his love for her. At The Globe, Melissa confronts Richard about the article, and when he refuses to retract it, she threatens legal action for libel, which Richard embraces for the publicity.
