Lance reaches out to Falcon Crest for assistance, but Angela intercepts the call, coldly telling him to stay in jail. Ralph Delaney shows up, offering to cover Lance's bail through The New Globe. Richard schemes to have Maggie write a piece on Lance, aiming to exploit his predicament, which infuriates Lorraine, who accuses him of bias. Meanwhile, Chase increases security at home and acquires a firearm. He discovers from Herb Boutilier in Washington, D.C., that Ben has no ties to the government and receives a threatening call urging him to cease his search. Charlotte reconnects with her former gambling companion, leading to losses at the racetrack. Richard sends Joel to rehab to distance him from Terry. Despite Lance's claims of being framed, Angela dismisses him and disinherits him again, prompting him to take refuge with Lorraine at the Tuscany Inn.
