Pamela is shocked to learn that Padgett is behind Richard's attack, only to find pillows in place of his body when she checks. As Padgett attempts to escape the town, Gustav seethes over Richard Channing's failure to be dealt with. Meanwhile, Lance takes over as publisher at The Globe, causing discontent among his staff. The Board of Supervisors ousts Chase from his position leading the airport authority. Struggling with his drug addiction, Joel McCarthy mugs Maggie at Tuscany Downs, leaving her unaware of her assailant. Later, Cole unknowingly hires Joel as the new transportation foreman. Emma hears Julia's voice in the vineyards but loses her when Angela arrives.
