Kenshin finally confronts Aoshi Shinomori, the leader of the Oniwaban Group. Once a formidable force during the Bakumatsu Era, the Oniwaban lost their purpose after surrendering their castle without a fight. Haunted by this failure, Aoshi is determined to reclaim his status as the strongest warrior. Meanwhile, Kenshin, a former Revolutionary fighter, cannot accept violence that lacks a moral foundation.
