Episode Overview

Laverne and Shirley are tasked with picking the performers for the 4th annual Shotz talent show. Their first audition takes place in their apartment, where Frank showcases his ventriloquist skills. He brings out a Laverne doll that has Shirley in stitches, but Laverne isn't amused until Frank reveals a Shirley doll, which has Laverne laughing while Shirley looks less than pleased. They persuade Frank that his talent is too impressive for the show, suggesting he should be the MC instead, and he agrees to avoid overshadowing the other acts. As Laverne and Shirley continue auditions at Shotz, they consistently receive only a raspberry from the unseen Mr. Shotz after each performance. Lenny and Squiggy perform "I Knew I Should Have Listened To Momma" but get the same response.
