Laverne convinces her quirky friend Chuck to start a band after he impressively plays Beethoven on his harmonica. Meanwhile, she's on a strict diet for her ulcer, and Carmine is trying to keep her from indulging in unhealthy foods at their apartment. When Chuck introduces Laverne to his new band, a group of nerdy guys, their classical music quickly puts her to sleep. Laverne insists that if Chuck wants to make it big, he needs to play rock music. The band, trusting her completely, quits their jobs to pursue music full-time. Despite Laverne's attempts to spice up their act, it still falls flat. Just when things seem dire, Squiggy surprises everyone by booking their first gig, but they only have 20 minutes to prepare.
