A blast of black kryptonite separates Lex into two distinct beings, unleashing his malevolent alter ego, Alexander. Alexander confines Lex within the mansion and revels in his wickedness. He menaces Lana with eviction from the Talon unless she agrees to be his partner, confronts Lionel in a fierce rivalry, and attempts to eliminate Clark and Chloe when they start to uncover his sinister plans.
