Lex receives an envelope containing explosive information that could ruin Jonathan's life, forcing him to weigh the consequences of using it, knowing it would also hurt Clark and Martha. Just as he grapples with his decision, Lex is shot and slips into a coma. In his dreams, his mother appears, revealing an alternate reality where he has left behind his father and LuthorCorp, living a joyful life with Lana and expecting a child. Meanwhile, Chloe encourages Clark to utilize his powers to distribute Christmas gifts to underprivileged children.
