Ruby Ryder is an aspiring actress stuck with minor roles and fleeting appearances. When her husband is jailed for armed robbery, Harry Starks steps in to support her financially. In exchange, Ruby agrees to give acting lessons to Harry's young boyfriend, Tommy. After a party, Ruby and Tommy share a night together, leading Tommy to develop an intense crush on her. Meanwhile, corrupt cop George Mooney discovers this affair and decides to exploit the situation to blackmail Ruby for his own gain.
