Grand Tours of the Scottish Islands (2013)
S03E06 Northern Exposure: The North Isles and Out Stack
Episode Overview
On this final leg of his grand journey, Paul ventures to the northernmost reaches of Britain, exploring the islands of Fetlar, Unst, and Yell. These islands, perched on Scotland's edge, boast a rich Scandinavian influence, having once been part of Norway. During his travels, he joins the Shanty Yell Men to honor their Norse roots, learns the traditional method of 'rooing' Shetland sheep, and has a rare chance to observe the wild otters thriving in Shetland’s clear waters. To top it all off, Paul realizes a long-held dream by visiting Out Stack, the rocky formation known as the 'full stop' at Britain’s edge.
