Episode Overview

Jimmy grew up with an alcoholic father and has fallen into heroin addiction himself. At just 13, he was involved with a gang that led him deeper into substance abuse. Now a father, he has made attempts to get clean, but the stress from his family has pushed him to rely on methadone. His mother, Joannie, is also battling addiction; she started using methadone for her lupus but has since become dependent on it and struggles with alcoholism. Rather than helping, she enables Jimmy by covering his expenses and even sharing her own methadone with him.
