Title: Laurie & Jessie Plot: Jessie, a 21-year-old medical student with aspirations of a healthcare career, has battled bulimia for three years. She indulges in excessive eating, followed by purging multiple times daily. Her struggles led to her departure from college and expulsion from her sorority after consuming everyone’s food. Eventually, her parents could no longer support her, resulting in her eviction from their home. Now, she juggles a day job as a hostess while secretly working as a stripper at night to fund her disorder. Meanwhile, Laurie, a mother of three, is grappling with a severe painkiller addiction, taking up to ten pills daily. Her children have been placed with her parents due to her struggles. Both women’s families stage interventions to help them reclaim their lives, and they agree to seek assistance.
