Episode Overview
Nik, 35, was once the cornerstone of his close-knit family, cherished by his five sisters and teenage son. A proud college graduate, he ascended to the role of director at a thriving casino chain early in his career. However, everything changed when a severe back injury led him to painkillers, spiraling into a heroin addiction. As a result, Nik lost his job, his home, and custody of his son. Meanwhile, Tiffany, a tall and striking brunette, excelled in academics and was a star on the varsity basketball team. Yet, her childhood was marred by her parents' tumultuous relationship and substance abuse. After marrying at 19 to escape her troubled past, she found herself in a controlling marriage that forced her back into her mother's home. Struggling with feelings of inadequacy, Tiffany turned to alcohol for solace, leading to multiple hospitalizations and suicide attempts.
