Episode Overview
A 16-year-old homicide case is reexamined when the convicted murderer’s daughter takes Col. Barnfather hostage. Meanwhile, detectives Pembleton and Bayliss delve into the suspicious drowning of an elderly man's wife in their bathtub. Tensions arise between Gee and newly appointed Capt. Russert regarding the hostage crisis. Bolander, Munch, Howard, and Felton sift through archived records related to the case. Lewis encounters a peculiar homeless man who reveals he witnessed the suicide of the original murderer's accomplice, prompting the detectives to work on reversing the conviction. In a lighter subplot, a new bartender encourages Munch to embrace the trend of microbreweries, while Bolander and Lewis strive to link the suicide to the death row inmate.
