Episode Overview

Munch and Gharty investigate the death of a promising high-school athlete, seemingly with a bright future ahead. Pembleton and Bayliss chase down a single lead—a pager number—that could point to a suspect. Bayliss devises a strategy aimed at capturing this individual. Meanwhile, Kellerman and Ballard are assigned a case involving a drug dealer, which Kellerman finds unappealing. The victim, a lieutenant of Georgia Rae Mahoney, raises concerns as four other murders linked to her organization remain unsolved. Although Pembleton and Bayliss mistakenly arrest the wrong person, their discovery of a drug trafficking operation earns them praise. In a parallel storyline, Lewis, acting on Falsone's intel, monitors members of the Mahoney crew, raising questions about his involvement in the murders. In a rare moment of good fortune, Kellerman learns he won’t need to share a tape of his conversation with Judge Gibbons with the FBI
