Episode Overview

In "Forgive Us Our Trespasses," Sheppard and Bayliss are on edge as they await the trial of Luke Ryland, the notorious Internet killer. The proceedings face multiple delays, culminating in Ryland's release due to a legal loophole when Danvers is unavailable. Infuriated, Bayliss confronts Danvers, resulting in a threat of charges against him. Meanwhile, Gee's daughter Teresa arrives to celebrate her father's promotion, prompting Gee to urge Bayliss to apologize to Danvers, which Bayliss refuses. Additionally, Lewis and Falsone investigate the murder of a drug addict, with her unsupportive mother-in-law and a nun sister complicating matters. Struggling with his new role, Gee ultimately declines the promotion, leading to confrontations between Bayliss and Lewis about their approaches to past traumas.
