Syd is reminded of a past friend with muscular dystrophy and decides to offer support to a reclusive young man who has severe facial scars. At the same time, she finds herself at odds with Joanie, who is frantically preparing for her impending wedding to Burt in just a few days. The situation is complicated by the arrival of Burt’s parents in their RV, whose simmering tension is hard to ignore. Meanwhile, Robbie gets into trouble again when he takes on the role of a bookie for bets on a youth hockey league, while a nervous Jim tries to fend off the advances of a persistent married woman.
